What is CBD Oil?

Medterra CBD oil is a blend of MCT oil and the compound Cannabidiol (CBD). These two ingredients are what make up our CBD Oil Tinctures, and also are the basis of our CBD Gel Capsules.

Cannabidiol is one of the over 100 phytocannabinoids (ph-eye-toh-can-ah-bin-oids) in the cannabis Sativa genus of plants. A cannabinoid (can-ah-bin-oid) is one of the many diverse chemical compounds that act on cannabinoid receptors in the endocannabinoid system.

MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglyceride. Medium Chain Triglycerides are a type of saturated fatty acid. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a fat-soluble compound so it is most effective, and diffused for absorption when coupled with a lipid-like fatty acid.
